Library Destiny

Check out our new library software program, Destiny! It is awesome!
One of the exciting parts of this new system is that you now have access to our library catalog from any computer or iPad—at home or school, if you are connected to the web. Here is the link to all of our school libraries:Click here

There are two options available for guest access to our catalogs. Destiny Quest offers a more graphical search option.

Below are the direct links to each school’s catalog:

Central Elementary Destiny Quest

http://destiny.usd320.com:81/quest/servlet/presentquestform.do?site=101&alreadyValidated=true
West Elementary Destiny Quest

There is a Destiny Quest app available for the iPad.

You can search for a book, then click on the title and read about the book. You can also go to a link at the left called “TitlePeek”. This gives you more details about the book. Also on the left, you will find “ShelfBrowse”. You will be able to see other books, just like you are standing in the library!

I'm Ready and I Know It

As incentive for our state assessment testing students helped put together a remix video. They have been working hard and using their tools to show off all they have mastered. This was quite a project to undertake and may need some editing, but enjoy our first version!

Vocabulary Parade

We will be reading Miss Alaineus in class at the end of the month. In May, we will celebrate vocabulary with a fun activity based on the book. For ideas click on the author's link.

Kansas Science Assessment

Today the students did an excellent job working on the math assessment. We will take part 2 Tuesday and part 3 on Thursday. Next week, April 10th and 12th, we will take our final state assessment. The science assessment reviews all the standards learned in science. Here is a review for your student to use at home.

STARBASE Update

Parents,
Unfortunately STARBASE has undergone some budget cuts this year. We found out last week that the STARBASE t-shirts will not be free this year -- the instructors are asking for $5 per student to cover the cost of their t-shirt. Of course, purchasing a t-shirt is optional. If you would like your student to have a t-shirt, and the cost is a problem, please let your child's homeroom teacher know. Also, we are still looking for parent volunteers to accompany us on any of the STARBASE days. If you would like to come with us, please let your child's homeroom teacher know so that we can get you a volunteer form. Thanks so much!
