Best Buy Program

The way this works is when a customer purchases products at Best Buy, they have the option to receive Reward Zone Points for their purchase. As they accumulate points, they get Reward Zone Certificates to use for purchasing back in the store. During the purchase, Best Buy will ask customers if they would like to donate their points to a local school of choice. When customers choose to donate their points, it results in 2% of their purchase being credited to that school. This does not require anything of the school except for receiving the certificates and buying products with these certificates! This is an exciting opportunity or our school to earn money toward additional instructional technology! If you shop at Best Buy please consider donating to our school.

Math Facts

Every day we spend time working on skills to build math as a grade level from 11:30-12:00.  Students are tested and then we organize all students into groups to meet their needs on that skill.  For the first month of school, we have been working on math facts.  Your student should be able to add and subtract quickly. In the grade book I have reported their test scores for addition, subtraction, and multiplication.  The addition scores are the only scores being counted towards their math grade this month.   Here is some information about learning facts.  You can click on links under math on the right side of the page to find many games for practicing facts online.  Here are some printable flashcards I found.

A Parent's Guide to the Common Core Standards

Each state has a set of standards they expect their students to master at every grade level. Our Nation is in a transition so every state will have the same standards. Many of the skills are similar to what has been taught already as our Kansas Standards.
